Jo is based in Reigate, Surrey, from where she runs a private practice Sport and Performance Psychology Consultancy. Jo works with individuals, teams, and groups via psychology 1:1 consultations and workshops. She has experience of providing psychology input across a broad spectrum of ages and levels, from grassroots sport to National, International, and Olympic level. Such performance settings include equestrian, athletics, boxing, cricket, crossfit, cycling, dance, darts, fencing, football, golf, gymnastics, hockey, judo, jiu jitsu, motocross, netball, pentathlon, rugby, running, shooting, skiing, snooker, squash, swimming, tennis, trampolining, and triathlon. She is passionate about helping clients to reach their aspirations, however big or small.
Jo works alongside multiple national and regional programmes and organisations, including TASS (Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme); AASE athletics (Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence); Surrey County Cricket Club (Academy); Army Troops2Targets pistol and rifle shooters; and FA disability football. She delivers workshops and courses in schools, colleges, and universities, and is also an Associate Lecturer at the University of Chichester and the University of Surrey, delivering sport psychology and psychology modules to undergraduate students.
Registered with the British Psychological Society, Jo works within the society’s professional code of conduct and sits on their Division of Sport and Exercise Psychology Committee. Jo’s professional qualifications include BSc/MSc degrees in Psychology and Sport Psychology respectively, as well as certificates in Life Coaching and Counselling. Jo also continues to research and study, for both an MPhil in Sport Psychology and professional HCPC Registration status.
Jo’s own sporting background lies in equestrian. Having ridden since the age of four, she has always been a keen competitor and as an undergraduate she represented the GB student team in showjumping and dressage internationally, including the World University Equestrian Games. Jo has a passion for all things sporty and/or competitive, from skiing to scrabble; and in her spare time can be found training her young horse ‘Minty’, walking her black labrador ‘Pepper’, or working hard at outdoor fitness classes!
