Workshops are a great way to introduce sport psychology concepts (e.g. confidence, focus, motivation, performing under pressure) to groups and teams at sport clubs, centres, academies, schools, and colleges. Jo designs her workshops to be engaging and interactive via discussions, visual aids, and practical tasks. The focus, content, and length of each workshop is tailored to the interests and requirements of the audience, who may comprise of:

  • Athletes – Introducing mental skills to enhance athletes’ sporting performance and enjoyment.
  • Coaches – Presenting psychological concepts that coaches can integrate into training and competitions, such as building athletes’ confidence or improving group cohesion.
  • Youth – Making psychology accessible and fun for younger athletes. Jo has run workshops with children from 8-years and up. Popular topics include dealing with nerves and coping with winning and losing.
  • Parents – Offering practical suggestions around how parents can best support their children within training and competition.

What Jo’s Clients are saying about WORKSHOPS…

We at the Skilam Elite Squash Academy asked Jo Davies to deliver an introduction to Sports Psychology for our group of Elite Sussex Junior Squash Players, with an age range of 8 to 18!! The session covered centering – a mental tool to enhance focus; looking at what that is, how it can help, and when to use it. The group found the session very helpful and interactive. Jo also provided hand-outs as a useful tool to refer back to after the workshop, with a step by step guide in how to achieve focus through centering. We would certainly recommend Jo Davies and would ask her back to similar style workshops.
